Some of the Best Date Ideas in Columbia Heights

Formerly an area riddled with gang activity and crime, Columbia Heights is experiencing a revitalization. This Northwest DC neighborhood now offers a mixture of tasty hole-in-the-wall eateries, chain restaurants (IHop among others) and bars. But for us, one of the true highlights of Columbia Heights has to be the two-story Target, where both you and your cart can ride the escalator!

Columbia Heights is easy to reach via Metro, using the Columbia Heights stop on the Green and Yellow lines.

To go dancing or not to go dancing. That is…not even a question! Trust us, dancing is a fantastic date idea. eat Ethiopian food

Ever been to Africa? Well, don’t worry if you can’t afford the airfare. You can access the continent without ever boarding a plane by heading to an Ethiopian restaurant. A traditional Ethiopian meal starts with a wat (a thick stew), which is served on injera (a sourdough flatbread). Make it an authentic date by eschewing utensils and eating with your hands. Sometimes it’s fun to get a little messy!
